While the line-up wasn’t as popular as past years, Virgin Mobile FreeFest 2013 still attracted thousands for a day of music, culture and inevitable mud sliding. The festival, which has called Merriweather Post Pavilion home since its inception, is a free event that encourages an optional donation from each attendee to help homeless teens find shelter and direction. It has been wildly successful over the past few years, and based on this year’s turn out, and the addition of a third stage, it seems that its future is bright. All signs point to its return next September. Below are a few selected captures from the festival. A larger selection was published by DCist, with their “good, bad, and ugly” review.
