While not officially on tour, the Cherry Poppin’ Daddies are playing shows throughout the country, including the nation’s capital where they graced the stage of one of DC’s more intimate music venues, the Hamilton Live.
The band came out swingin’ with tunes from their new album, White Teeth, Black Thoughts, and tracks from throughout their 24 year career, while mixing in some crowd favorite covers like “Come Fly with Me” by Frank Sinatra and “Doug the Jitterbug” by Louis Jordan.
Following their first set, front man Steve Perry personally sold records stage side, gabbing it up with fans, and signing autographs. He then rejoined the band for a second set of energized, swanky tunes during which the audience happily showed off their swing dancing skills.
