It didn’t turn out to be the powerhouse it was hyped to be, but the first ‘real’ snow storm of 2015 did leave New York almost completely deserted. As snow picked up toward the middle of the night, the city screeched to a halt and was left nearly motionless. Not to say that didn’t present some opportunities for adventurous photographers.
Most sidewalks were empty of pedestrians, and most traffic disappeared by 11PM, when a city-wide travel ban went into effect. By 11:01, only the occasional snow plow or police car interrupted the peaceful stillness that had overtaken Manhattan.
A few brave explorers casually strolled through the avenues and main thoroughfares, and a few dozen made there way to Times Square, but for the most part New York surrendered to Juno.
